 he
Summit House is a multi-story home constructed with Western red cedar
inside and out. Surrounded by three secluded decks, the home offers
four bedrooms, three baths, a large living room, separate dining room,
a dream kitchen, a loft den, and a game room with a bumper pool table.
The two fireplaces provide a cozy and relaxing atmosphere for the perfect
vacation. The Summit House in Wawona is truly an incomparable setting
in which to enjoy the extraordinary beauty of Yosemite National Park.

miles from the south entrance to Yosemite National Park, within the
park boundaries, is the quiet, quaint community of Wawona. This was
the first stopping place for the earliest stagecoach visitors to this
wondrous area. The historic Wawona Hotel, built in the 1890's, serves
as a reminder of days gone by. The old pioneer village, which features
rustic homes and pioneer activities, runs along the south fork of the
Merced River. It is here that you can horseback ride, enjoy a ranch
style cookout, ride in an old stagecoach, or square dance in the barn.
And from this special area it is an easy drive to the Mariposa Grove
of giant sequoia trees, Badger Pass ski area, Glacier Point and the
Valley floor.

"Beautiful
home, wonderful scenery, the deer added a magic touch to our perfect
vacation." Penny
Schroeder, Los Angeles
 ithin
this fabulous setting the Summit House is beautifully situated
atop a peaceful knoll overlooking the majestic Sierra Nevada peaks.
Surrounding the house are forests of sugar pines, cedar, redwood
and manzanita trees offering a very special seclusion for the
person who wants a break from the hurried life. The tranquility
and serenity of the setting is in sharp contrast to the crowds
encountered on the Yosemite Valley floor. The main traffic you
will find here consists of deer, squirrels, chipmunks, and raccoons
that inhabit this area.

activities are numerous including golf, horseback riding, fishing, hiking,
and climbing the trails of Chilnualna Falls. Sunbathing and swimming
in the south fork of the Merced River, which is only a short walk from
the house, are among the summertime treats. In the winter, picturesque
Badger Pass is close by and offers marvelous family downhill and crosscountry
skiing.
